Recipes of Complementary Foods for Babies


Introducing complementary foods to infants is an important milestone in their development. It's crucial to offer a variety of nutrient-rich foods to ensure they receive a well-rounded diet. Always consult with your pediatrician before introducing new foods to your baby. Here are some simple and nutritious first complementary food recipes for babies:

Sweet Potato Puree:


Ingredients:

  • 1 sweet potato

  • Water

  • Peel and chop the sweet potato into small cubes.

  • Steam or boil until tender.

  • Mash the sweet potato and add water or breast milk to achieve the desired consistency.

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • Scoop out the flesh of the avocado.

  • Mash it with a fork until smooth.

  • 1 ripe banana

  • Peel the banana and mash it with a fork until smooth.

  • 1 ripe pear

  • Water

  • Peel and dice the pear.

  • Steam or cook until soft.

  • Puree the pear, adding water or formula as needed.


Rice Cereal:


Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp rice cereal

  • Breast milk

  • Prepare rice cereal according to package instructions.

  • Mix with breast milk or formula until you achieve the desired consistency.

Carrot Puree


Ingredients:

  • 2 carrots

  • Peel and chop the carrots.

  • Puree the carrots using a blender or food processor.


Oatmeal Puree:

Apple Puree:


Ingredients:

  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped

  • Water

  • Steam or boil the chopped apples until they are soft.

  • Puree the apples in a blender or food processor, adding water as needed for a smooth consistency.

  • 1 cup frozen peas

  • Water

  • Steam the peas until they are cooked through.

  • Blend the peas with water until you achieve a smooth puree.


Quinoa Porridge:


Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp quinoa, rinsed

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Cook the quinoa in water until it reaches a porridge-like consistency.


Mashed Banana with Yogurt:


Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt

  • Mash the banana with a fork and mix it with plain yogurt.


Brown Rice Cereal:


Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp brown rice, finely ground

  • Water

Instructions:

  • Cook the finely ground brown rice with water or formula until it forms a porridge-like consistency.
